Ricky Nelson

If you enjoy listening to the music of the 50s, 60s and 70s, there is an online radio station that plays these songs 24/7, for free.

You can listen to music now by clicking here to go to Golden Hits Radio.

Two retired disk jockeys (DJs), Bob Burton and Kurt Kilpatrick, better known as Burt and Kurt, have opened an online radio show.

The show features music only, no commercials, for those who like to listen to music in the background when you are at your computer.

Of course, you can buy and download your favorite songs. You can even sign up to broadcast their hits from your own web site.

But, for everyone else, the music is free for the listening.

Recent plays on the site were:

  • Bye Bye Love (Everly Brothers)
  • You’ve Got Your Troubles (Fortunes)
  • Sunshine (Jonathan Edwards)
  • Garden Party (Rick Nelson)
  • Our House (Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young)

I know. We remember him as Ricky, but when he grew up, he changed his name to Rick.

I didn’t even remember the second and third selections until I heard them start playing.

Then, it took me back to the concert where I met Jonathan Edwards. I was so tongue-tied, I asked my husband to ask for his autograph for me.

What do you remember when you hear these golden oldies?

Where were you when Rick Nelson came out with Garden Party?

What were your favorite songs from those days?

Listen to music now. And, remember.

If you want to start writing down your memories from those days, click here to follow this blog for more tips.

To you, the songs you remember and the songs that are making your grandchildren’s memories.
